Buying Gym Equipment and Fitness Equipment Online.

Buying Gym Equipment and Fitness Equipment Online.

Buying gym equipment and fitness equipment online is a great way to build yourself a home gym and to train from the comfort of your house. This is a great way to train and has countless advantages over training at a gym. Here we’ll look at just some reasons to start buying gym equipment and fitness equipment online.

You don’t need much: Many people will not buy their own gym equipment because they believe they need to spend vast amounts of money on a huge number of items in order to enjoy a home gym. This is really not the case and actually all you need to be able to train every body part is a set of dumbbells. These don’t cost too much at all and are a great starting point. You then add the extra items on to your collection as you go to ensure you have as much as you need. As it’s incremental though you never need to part with a huge amount of money.

You can tailor the equipment perfectly: This then means that you will add items to your home gym as you go and you can choose these online for more variety and for better deals. Eventually you will have a gym where you have all of the things you need to workout and there will be nothing superfluous there that you don’t require. Many gyms you attend and you find that they have many running machines but no bench press, or the other way around. This is fine if that’s what you want but can otherwise be a nuisance. This way there will only be what you want there.

You won’t have to wait: One of the biggest benefits of all when it comes to training at home is that you will never have to wait in a queue for the bench press or another item. This is really useful as waiting can often mean that you end up losing your ‘pump’ and losing your motivation to workout hard. Using home gym equipment you are the only person you have to wait for meaning that you will have no need to wait in queues and ensuring that you can maintain the momentum throughout your training.

You will save money: In the long run using a home gym will mean saving money as you will be making just a few one off payments rather than having to pay a continuous monthly fee. In this sense then buying your own items will be a great investment. Training is something that should be indefinite and continue for your life time so over this time you will save an increasingly large amount of cash.

You won’t have to travel: Finally and perhaps most importantly you will not have to travel anywhere in order to benefit from your gym equipment. This will then mean that you can train from the comfort of your own home and not have to go out in the cold or drive anywhere. The importance of this should not be under-estimated, as it will mean that you need roughly half the amount of determination and drive in order to do the workout – which will hopefully mean you stay committed and stay in shape.

10 Truths About Losing 10kg Of Body Fat

Download – Royalty Free Stock Images
from © Dreamstime.com How many times have you seen adverts in magazines, on the tv, or on the internet that promise overnight weight loss akin to losing a vital limb in weight. A miracle herbal remedy, THE “secret” diet, or a 5 minute a day exercise routine that offers to shed kilos off your figure. Do you think if it was really that simple that we would still be in the grip of a global obesity problem? Despite all these so called health foods, increased sales of fitness equipment and revolutionary diets, why are we still gaining weight!

Sadly the often very suspect science and marketing of “health” products has just served to confuse many of us. Even the lesser educated, but well-meaning, health practitioners have been suckered into the search for the latest quick fix, selling supplements and pointless exercise equipment.

What follows is my 10 truths about losing body fat. I pull no punches, be prepared to shake your head and disagree, however, if you truly want to lose 1, 10 or even 50 kilos of body fat the principles and facts stated here remain the same.

1. DIETING, in the traditional sense of cutting calories is NOT the optimum method to lose body fat. By starving yourself, your body quickly reacts to preserve itself from its foolish owner. Your metabolism is slowed, increasing your body’s ability to store the fuel that is taken in as fat. As soon as you stop the diet you quickly regain the weight, often in a worse situation than before you started the diet. And to make matters worst with a now horribly slow metabolism it will become even harder to lose weight again!

2. Diet PILLS, liposuction and other clinical procedures are nothing more than temporary solutions. Made famous (or should I say infamous!) by celebrities looking for a quick fix to their excess body fat, these procedures are becoming more accessible due to continued high demand. However, you are simply treating the symptoms (i.e. the excess body fat) rather than the cause (i.e. you are not exercising enough and eating too much!). Even if you do go under the surgeons knife it is likely you will still put the weight back on if your poor eating and exercise habits continue.

3. Diets that claim you can eat UNLIMITED amounts of a particular food type should be avoided. A calorie is a calorie regardless of its source. Eating 50 pieces of broccoli at 100Kcal is the same as eating 50 pieces of chocolate at 100Kcal. The excess will always be stored as fat!

4. Doing 100 CRUNCHES per day will not make you lose 10kg from your waist, and more often than not, it will not give you a 6 pack either! The adverts that claim to “melt” fat from your stomach, bum and thighs are challenging one of the fundamental rules of weight loss YOU CAN’T SPOT REDUCE. So throw away that ab trainer you bought on the shopping channel and make some room to do some real exercise!

5. Simply paying for 6 months GYM membership will not lose you body fat by default you actually need to use the gym too! Get the most from your membership by using it at least 3 times a week, hire a good trainer to help set up a program for you and help you perform the exercises correctly and safely.

6. ONLY DIETING will not necessarily give you the sustained weight loss you desire. We have already established that starving yourself is not the right method, and many limited diets quickly become hard to follow. Eating correctly is only half the battle.

7. ONLY EXERCISE will not necessarily work either. A quote often used by trainers is “You can’t out-train a trash diet”. This is true for all but the genetically gifted, that seem to be able to eat as many pizzas and burgers as they desire, do no exercise and still look slim. However, if you are not one of the “lucky” ones, with freakish genetics, it doesn’t matter if you burn an extra 1000 Calories on the treadmill, if you follow it up with a super-sized macdonalds drive thru on the way home from the gym, you’re probably not gonna get the results you desire.

8. CARDIO TRAINING alone is not the optimum method for losing body fat. Cardiovascular exercise such as jogging, cycling and swimming is great for burning calories, however the more you do the more efficient your body becomes at performing the workout so you end up burning fewer calories for the same volume of exercise. The next time you are stood waiting to get on to your favorite exercise bike or treadmill have a look at other cardio gym goers you often see and ask yourself if they have noticeable improved in body shape? I will guarantee that you will not see dramatic changes in any of them. Those gym goers with the low, single figure body fat percentages generally hang out in the free weights area, following a simple but effective resistance based workout.

9. A combination of CARDIO and RESISTANCE training, coupled with a sensible healthy diet to fuel and assist your training IS the optimum method for burning body fat. This is a change in lifestyle you must make for the rest of your life and not just the next 10 weeks. To achieve and maintain a great body, regular exercise and a sensible diet is essential.

10. STOP looking for the quick and easy route to a supreme body, it simply does not exist! However there is an optimum method for increasing your metabolism, burning body fat and looking great for the rest of your life. The solution is simple but NOT easy. It requires hard work and dedication to seek the right route for you.

That’s it, 10 truths about losing 10kg of body fat. I appreciate that this doesn’t fit in with the commonly held beliefs for losing body fat, but the commonly held beliefs obviously don’t work otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this report!

Electric Guitar Tabs Explained

Electric Guitar photo

Tablature as a means of writing music down has been with us for hundreds of years, but many people today look down on tabs as a third rate method of musical communication. In fact, tablature is not a dumbed down version of conventional musical notation, rather what we call sheet music grew from a need for more versatility in notation as music became more complex in medieval times. Electric Guitar Tabs have been a great help to the many people who have taken up the electric guitar and who wanted to get down to the business of playing as quickly as possible.

Conventional music notation has much more to communicate than tabs, but if you already know more or less how the song sounds, and are prepared to work at your own interpretation, then there is nothing wrong with using tablature.

Guitarists composing music using tabs and sharing the results of their work on the internet have brought a wide range of music within reach of amateur musicians who never learnt to read music. To some guitarists learning to read music is a waste of time that would be put to better use expressing their feelings through music. This attitude is at odds with the idea that the more theoretical knowledge you have, the greater the pool of resources at your disposal for expressing your ideas.

Tablature, on the other hand, allows the guitarist to get to know the basic piece of music in his own way, and use his musical intuition and flair for improvisation to produce a musical work which will be as much his own work as the original composer’s. For that reason electric guitar tabs are a boon to the electric guitar player who does not want to just produce a copy of someone else’s work.

You can find electric guitar tabs in music stores along with conventional written music, but the quickest and best place to look for electric guitar tabs is on the internet. Even though there’s a legal dogfight going on about tab publishers infringing the rights of the original composer, many tabs are still available for free. However you need to exercise your discernment when making use of tablature produced by amateur guitarists. You might need to change things around a little if they don’t sound right.

As for the electric guitar player who wants to broaden his musical knowledge, tablature also allows the guitarist to learn new chords, scales or modes very quickly.

Finally a reminder that using electric guitar tabs to learn new material is not a walk in the park – you need to supply some of the information which is otherwise written into sheet music. You need to have some idea of the note values and a basic understanding of time signatures and tempo. What that boils down to is that you can hear the music in your head, and you just want to know where to put your fingers on the fret board. That is what guitar tabs were originally made for.

Wedding Music Tips How To Choose The Best Wedding Music

Wedding Music photo

So you’ve exchanged vows, and have said your ‘I do’s, now it’s time to head out to the reception and party like you’ve never partied before. If you want live music playing in your reception, then you would want to hire a live band. But first, you must check with people that rent the venue where you’re going to hold your reception, to see what type of live music they allow. Some venues have stringent restrictions when it comes to live music.

The type of music that you choose to play in your wedding should be an expression of both the bride and groom’s personality, personal taste, and the overall theme of the wedding.

It’s very important to select the right music, because the music will become a pervading presence all through out the wedding, and right down to the reception. Music creates an atmosphere. It will set the mood of your wedding.

During the wedding itself, the choice of music usually depends on the wedding. Most church ceremonies don’t allow secular music. They stick to more traditional, or religious music. A man and a woman duet is usually sung during the ceremony. A church organist usually provides the majority of the music.

For the reception, the bride and groom has a choice of recorded music, or live music. If you opt for recorded music, it would be best to hire the services of a DJ. The best thing about this, is you can request to have all of your favorite songs in the playlist. Ask your friends if they know any good DJs that are willing to play for wedding receptions. If they don’t know any, you could always just search the yellow pages, internet, or even contact your local radio station.

Once you’ve settled on a DJ, have a one-on-one discussion with the DJ. Just to explain what type of entertainment and mood you want to have during the reception. Also discuss, the selection of music that you have in mind. Ask if the DJ’s familiar with wedding protocol. If not, you might want to brief the DJ first about the sensibility of the event.

On the other hand, choosing live music offers you a choice of hiring a band, soloist, instrumentalists, jazz group, etc. It all depends on what kind of theme you have in mind for you wedding.

For more formal weddings, classical groups, piano soloists, and instrumentalists are more appropriate. It would not be a bad idea, to also consider the sensibilities of your guests, to ensure that everyone has a good time!

If you want to have a rocking good time for the reception of your wedding, then hiring a band is the way to go! The energy of a live band gets people going. There’s nothing else that spells a rocking good time better, than a rock and roll band.

Before hiring a band, ask them if you could listen to their music first. This will help you decide if that particular band is just right for you. Also discuss, if the band will do emcee duties, as well as provide the music.

It’s best to hire a band that has had previous experience with wedding receptions. This way, they’d know what to expect, and will be able to provide the proper entertainment that’s fitting for the occasion.

You always want to keep the music going, so include some background music even when the meals are being served, or when the bride and groom are doing their rounds of greeting, having their pictures taken, etc. This will also maintenance the atmosphere of the wedding all through out the reception. So choose wisely, because your choice of music can make or break this occasion!

Ten Things You Can Do To Decrease Your Stress At The Office

Stress At The Office photo

The world we live on is nothing but a mound of chaotic pressure that is building to the point it bursts like a volcano. We are bombarded with pressure from our employers, our customers and families to the point where some people actually do break. Most of us today in professional lives spend between 8 and 16 hours a day at the office, which equates to almost two-thirds of our lives being in a place we really do not want to be in, but there are things you can do to decrease the stress in your office.

Remember this, what we call stress, is really what we put on ourselves. Whilst other people can influence the way we feel, ultimately we are the ones who choose whether we are going to be stressed or not. You are in control of how you are going to feel, no one else. Stress as such is going on in our heads, so the real secret to de-stressing is to find things that would make you happy and content within.

#1. Have a Photo Of The Happiest Time In Your Life

Think back through your life, what is the happiest moment in your life. It could be the birth of your child, getting married, going out on a fantastic date, visiting some outstanding place or maybe it is when you bought your puppy dog but no matter what it is, you will almost certainly have a photo of that time. Take that photo and put it on your desk to remind you of those happy times as this will be one of the tools you need to beat stress in your office.

The happiest time in my life, and where I felt like the luckiest man in the world, was the day my wife stepped out of the limousine at the church for our wedding. I had never seen my wife look so beautiful and I made sure when I felt those feelings that I would remember them forever. So on my desk at work, I have a picture of my wife getting out of the limousine and each time I feel stressed I simply take a few moments to look at that picture and remember that moment in time. You brain is an amazing part of your body, no matter how many times I look at that photo, my brain releases the same feelings I had on the day and helps me snap out of feeling stressed.

Use the happy times, to control the times when you feel the most vulnerable and stressed.

#2. Think Of Your Boss Yelling At You Naked

Everyone has nightmare stories of their bosses being a grouch and I certainly have had my fair share, but most people who talk of being excessively stressed often relate that stress to a boss who is abusive and yells a lot. Well first off, if you are working in an environment where you boss is abusive, get out NOW! Nobody has to put up with that and remember life is way to short regardless of the money. Is money worth that much that the stress is worth dying tomorrow from a heart attack? NO!

However, if you have a boss who yells at you a lot, just for the sake of yelling and really is quite rude, simply imagine them yelling at you naked. If someone flew into your office absolutely starkas, that is with absolutely no clothes on, would you take them seriously. Course not! So, why take a boss that comes in and yells at you seriously. If your boss is an effective communicator he or she would not need to yell at you.

The next time your boss comes in, force yourself to think of them absolutely naked. When you do that, see just how you actually react and whether you deal with the situation better than when they are yelling at you absolutely naked. After a bit of practice you will find you are able to handle the situation much better and cope with a grouchy boss.

#3. Get Up and Do Some Office Exercises

Look no one on the planet can deny that doing exercise, gets the blood going and burns off the stress however sneaking away during the day can be really difficult but there are other Office Exercises that can bring you a lot of benefit to you. There are many office exercises that you can do like rolling your shoulders, clenching your hands and releasing them and even neck exercises that will help release the stress.

Often, much of our built up stress is simply due to sitting at the computer all day looking at the screen. Make sure that every hour you get up and stretch for at least five minutes. You will find that if you do not do that over a period of time this will lead to aches and pains, which can help increase your stress.

To get the best Office Exercises for you to do simply talk to your General Practitioner or visit a Physiotherapist and they will be able to help you develop an Office Exercise plan and you will be surprised how much easier life is to cope with.

#4. Schedule Enough Time to Go From One Meeting To Another

I worked for a bank about five years ago and I have never met an organisation that has so many meetings. My whole days constituted going from one meeting to another and I learnt one very important lesson. If I did not run my schedule my meetings would. Make sure that when you schedule an appointment or a meeting that you include travel time to and from a meeting.

Whilst working for this firm, if you did not schedule travel time, they would simply book meetings next to each other even if the meeting was across the other side of the city. They would simply expect you to immediately appear at that other meeting.

Convenient Sources For Music

Sources For Music photo

Many people consider a music store at a local mall to be a convenient source for all of their music needs. When they take into account how long it takes to get to the mall and the traffic conditions that must be dealt with on each trip, they might reconsider how convenient it is to buy music at these places in town. Some people are disappointed while shopping the malls for music because the stores are lacking in the area of providing good customer service.

If they have purchased music at a land-based store before, they know that the prices are higher than other places they have found. There are certain music stores in town that offer great discounts on music but the music is not what is playing on the radios that reflect current sounds. The music they have access to might be out-of-date at times and people want to find music that is easy to access and at a good price.

When people find music stores online, they are usually at home and sitting down in their favorite chair. From that location, they have the option of listening to music selections before they make a purchase and will not feel like they are inconveniencing anyone when they want to replay the music once or twice just to be sure. These people might also find other information about the music and the artist that created it.

The internet is a convenient source for all types of music. There is a certain amount of advertising that customers are subjected to but that is to be expected at times because most music selections on the internet are provided free of charge. The new artists appreciate the opportunity to get some exposure and are willing to provide music clips that can be used as ringtones on cellular telephone phones.

A music artist might give fans access to information about each member of the band on the internet and customers who buy in a land-based store might not ever know about it until it is put in a news release in the hometown newspaper. Music lovers on the net might gain access to a new music release before it is offered for sale in a land-based music store.

The internet is a convenient source for all types of music because the search engines allow fans to find the music they want in a matter of seconds. If they were shopping for music in a land-based music store, they might have to search for hours amid various album titles before they find the music that they want. Discounted prices on music in internet music stores is usually filed under a clearance tab which makes affordable music a very easy thing to enjoy.

Training For Music Industry Jobs

Music Industry Jobs photo

The music industry is undoubtedly one of the ‘sexiest’ fields in which to work, according to a recent survey by the editors of Time magazine. There are music industry jobs that require nearly any skill set that you can bring to the job, and the training required varies with each of the music industry jobs that may interest you. Here are some general guidelines for finding work in music industry jobs.

Love Music.

It’s not a prerequisite for music industry jobs, but loving music of any kind is a definite step in the right direction. While loving music may not be important in a record company accountant’s position, it’s practically required for anyone who works with artists or in promotion.

Check the qualifications for the job.

In general, most jobs in the music industry require at least a two year college degree – with the exception of performers who can get by without a degree if they have talent. Expect that the more involved the job, the higher your level of education and/or experience will need to be. A record promoter may need to demonstrate networking skills or developed contacts in the local music scene, for instance, and a contracts lawyer will obviously require a law degree. Music teachers working for the schools will need to have a teaching license as well as the demonstrated ability to play an instrument.

The best training is on the job training.

For positions like band manager, road work, publicists and promoters, the best training is through an internship or through your own work promoting and/or managing a band on your own. Some publicists and promoters come to the job from their own fanzines, or have developed a network of contacts in radio and advertising through their college or teen year extracurricular activities.

A degree in music is respected in many music industry jobs.

Colleges that specialize in music education like the Berklee School for the Performing Arts offer training in many different aspects of the music industry. You can study music and performance law, accounting for the music industry, and business management for music companies as well as composition, performance and other music-specific jobs.

Join the band.

One of the best training grounds for a career in orchestral music is your school or college band. If you’re already beyond the school years, take advantage of county and city music societies to both train your ear and keep in the practice of playing with others.

Music ministry jobs often require special certifications.

If you have a calling to a job in music ministry, you’ll find that many churches and synagogues require that their full time music minister have pastoral training as well as musical training. The American Guild of Organists and the National Council of Pastoral Musicians offer professional certifications at a number of levels.

Music therapists require a bachelor’s degree in music therapy from one of the approved universities that teach music therapy.

In addition to regular studies, the bachelors in music therapy requires 1200 hours of clinical practice.

The requirements for training for music industry jobs are varied, but this is a brief overview of the training required for some of the major careers in the music industry.
